Jewelry Care: After wearing, wipe your jewels with a soft lint-free cloth and store them in the box they came in. Sterling silver naturally oxidizes over time and acquires a grey patina. This may happen very slowly or quickly depending on your individual skin chemistry, cosmetics, and environmental factors. High humidity and pollution will hasten the process, as will contact with cosmetic products. A jewelry polishing cloth is good to have on hand and usually all you will need. To restore your jewels' brightness, line a dish with aluminum foil, add a few heaping tablespoons of baking soda, rest your jewels gently inside making sure they touch the foil, and pour boiling water in the dish. If your jewel has gemstones or pearls, hold them outside the water so as not to damage them.
